Post Grand Finals hike in the bush

The dust has settled for the 2026 Grand Final, which if you haven't heard, was Fremantle Dockers vs the Brisbane Lions. I couldn't make it down to the MCG to watch the game in person, so did the next best thing - took the train down to Freo.

I'm going to use a bush walk to tell my experience, including the aftermath on the mean streets of Fremantle. For the hike, I check out the Munday Brook Trail in the Korung National Park. This is a fairly easy 10km loop starting and ending in Karragullen.

I also go off trail and find remains of the Munday's Brook Diversion Channel in the bush. Built in 1897, this old piece of infrastructure contributed to Perth's very first fresh water supply, feeding into the Victoria Reservoir.
