A rocky pool, an asbestos landfill and a dam – KALAMUNDA NATIONAL PARK

Today's mission is to hike to a dam on the Helena River in the Kalamunda National Park, as there is no public vehicle access. The reason for this is to film b-roll for an upcoming Brendan's Odyssey video about the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme (the dam feeds into the Mundaring Weir).

Regardless, I've never visited this National Park before, so decided to make a day of it. Throughout a 14km loop (with plenty of elevation gain) I find the remains of a quarry (?) near an asbestos landfill, the notable Rocky Pool and finally, the Helena River Dam and Pumping Station. It was a fun day out after an awful, weekend long storm.
